Free Ad Space For Your Web Comic For A Contest Entry?

In this weeks Friday Artist Contest Talk we’re discussing the sweetest deal you’ll probably ever hear about on Top Web Comics. Not only can you win a free copy of Watch Dogs in our unofficial art contest if you’re one of the two highest voted entries… But now EVERYONE gets one free ad slot on Top Web Comics just for entering! O_O Yup, you just read that right. If you have somewhere to contact other web comic artists, you may want to let them know they can get free advertisement just by entering this latest contest! So you might want to get drawing your best Aiden Pearce cosplaying web comic character, because this contest just went into overdrive! Read on for

So, I know what you’re thinking. Why? Either that or you’ve already closed your browser and you’re creating a wonderful scene of your character proposing to his main squeeze by hacking all the screens in a crowded down town scene to read, “Marry me (fill in name here)”. Here’s what is going on. We here at TWC are changing up our Newsletter service in order to be more efficient. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a lot longer than we expected. Due to that down time, Marty Basto decided instead of investing in rushing the news out there any way he could, he’d rather invest in all of you to give you free advertisement for entering this contest, and for getting the word out there so other fellow web comic artists can take advantage of this awesome deal as well!

From what I understand, one ad slot equals out to one banner or such for part of a day. That may not sound like much, but remember, when you search for webcomics on Google, it’s Top Web Comics that comes up first. You’ll be seen by our many visitors, just for joining into this contest.

Just to note too, that does include our first entry (as seen below) from The Highest Bet. All any of you need to do, is submit your entry into the Unofficial Watch Dogs Art Contest, wait for it to be live on the contest page, and then write in to Marty Basto at with the name of your web comic and a message requesting your ad spot be included in the queue for submitting an entry to the contest.

Personally, I think this is awesome! Instead of focusing on getting a bunch of newsletters out there faster, Marty is being generous by promoting your web comic on Top Web Comics, along with only asking that you tell your web comic creating friends about the contest so they can get involved to. In the end, you’re not only promoted on the contest page via your entry, but you get a free ad slot as well!

Friday Artist Talk will return to normal next week. Lets be honest anyway, reading my ramblings or hearing about being able to get free ad space? I think everyone can agree it’s nice to have a break like this for one week. :)

Just chiming in here… if you are sitting on the fence about whether it is worth the hassle… that our ads from the last contest really did drive a lot of new readership. Thanks guys.

Innnteresting. I’d never heard of Aiden Pierce or Watch Dogs, so was going to pass, but now… OK, I’ll work up a hat to throw in the ring. Probably come around next week, this weekend belongs to Uncle Sugar.

      Glad to hear it! :D

I’ll hopefully have up some articles about game details soon but this is probably the best and easiest to get you started: Basically the concept is being able to control any sort of electronics by a mobile device.
