The June Contest will be the following:

The Ostrich in Hell Contest

Back in April, we had a contest about Hippos in Heaven. That contest was a lot of fun to see all the different approach and all the different characters included in the submittals. This time around for the June Contest which will be starting soon and running for 25 days from the start date, we decided to visit the other side of the spectrum and came up with The Ostrich in Hell Contest.

The rules of this contest will be as follow:

* 1 entry per webcomic

* Maximum of 2 characters of the webcomic to be included. Minimum of 1 character in the entry.

* Entry must contain The Gate of Hell

* 1 Ostrich

* 1 Chibi Hitler

* No text is allowed in the entry.

Randomness is the name of these challenges.

The prizes will be the following:

First Prize – Most votes

5 free ad spots of the winners choice, pending availability

1 article in the Watercooler written by the winner to discuss the subject of their choice, ideally their webcomic, pending approval from the Editor prior to being published.

Second Prize – Second Most votes

3 free ad spots of the winners choice, pending availability

Bonus Prize – Webcomic bringing the most traffic

3 free ad spots to the webcomic bringing the most traffic to the contest page.

(This prize may be shared with other prize winner. If the first place winner also brings in the most traffic, they will get the first prize and the bonus prize)

ENTRY BONUS – For anyone entering the contest

Your entry will gain a free mention on Facebook and Twitter from TopWebcomics with your contest entry link listed in the mention.

As always, it is important to have fun!

Happy Creations!

    So…this contest has technically started, even though the contest page doesn’t exist yet?

      My bad, I didn’t even check the dates from Marty’s “press release”. We’re just waiting on the contest artwork to come in.

        I’m not sure if the contest artwork will come in without a contest page to go to, without the page in the “contests” section with a “participate” button and etc, like the previous contests had.

        And the reward for driving traffic in can’t happen until there is a contest page with a unique link, so I have no incentive to even tell people about the contest yet.

        And announcing that a contest started 3 days ago is a little off-putting. Especially since it ends relatively soon.

        Food for thought. Let me know when the contest page is up, and I’ll link to it again. My best chance is the driving traffic one ;)

          Also, moderated comments now? How come?

            Hopefully it won’t be a problem now. Either way of course I’ll be approving any legitimate comments. We’ve just been working on fixing up the site so we don’t have to deal with spam messages we’ve been getting. Thanks for letting me know. :)

          Sorry, I meant the contest artwork to promote the contest. I’m still waiting for it from Martin’s art guy.

          I’ll be sure to add extra days to the contest itself to compensate.

            Cool. Well I look forward to the official contest page, and to promoting it (and maybe entering with a crappy MS Paint offering of my own) as always :D
