More Medieval Fantasy In Heroes (Or Not)

HoN_Intro This week we’re taking a look at a web comic for all you adventure seekers out there. It’s always good fun to just go exploring in a fantasy world. Pick up a basic fetch quest. Explore some ancient ruins… Or get an artifact of amazing power back for the Mages Council. That’s where Heroes (Or Not) comes in! Feeling like a casual role playing session the story follows the tale of Eyldram has he sets off to begin taking jobs for the adventurers guild. The Happy Mug Inn of Kingsward is the place where would-be adventurers can join the guild and get jobs from Hollgar, the Dwarf that works there. It’s a nice set up that leads to Eyldram befriending Thanissa, a girl looking to get some paid adventuring work herself. Content wise, things flow well and occasional establishing scenes give a good overview of new areas. While still quite young, being only 33 pages so far, the story of Eyldram has some decent adventure packed into it’s pages already. HoN_Kingsward Things are just beginning to pick up even more with the recent quest to recover an artifact for the Mages Council. It seems like a small group of them (seen above) will be going after this item. That isn’t to say earlier adventures didn’t have interest and charm. Series creator Jean-François has good emotion and conversation throughout these pages. It’s a fun story with light comedy and easy to read panels. I’d recommend adding this to your group of web comics to keep up with. Regardless of where the story goes, it’s just fun to see a plain ordinary adventure. Really Heroes (Or Not) could continue on in it’s tabletop RPG sort of feel, and I’d never feel that I was missing anything. I’m sure it’s probably looking to ramp up with this recent story arc, but the writing flows well and is enjoyable regardless. HoN_Dungeon Really, I’d ramble on more about the story, but with a short catch up read to go, you may as well dive in and just see where the story goes itself. Jean-François should be proud. The story draws you in and keeps you interested, even though it’s just a casual fantasy romp at the moment. A good casual read. You can check out all of these adventures on the Heroes (Or Not) official page here:

Thank you so much for the review :) I’m glad you’re enjoying the comic so far!

The story will definitely ramp up soon and moreso once I can update it regularly again but I intend to keep its comedic and RPG-ish style.

Thanks for reading and thanks again for featuring us :)

For sure! I’m happy either way. I enjoyed the regular everyday adventuring just as much. Congrats and I definitely wish you all the best as your series continues!
